Summer in Dusseldorf 2015

Discover the joys of summer on the River Rhine, perhaps in one of the beer gardens, at the open-air cinema, in the outdoor swimming pool, or just enjoying a leisurely stroll or picnic in one of the many green areas.

Fresh Air in the City – parks

Discover one of the numerous parks within the city and enjoy the fresh air.

Beer Gardens
The first sunbeams and blue sky will lead Dusseldorfer,, as well as visitors from all over the world, into the city’s beer gardens, which are commonly affiliated with a traditional brewery.

Bikers, hikers, in-line skaters and car drivers all know one place: The Burghof at Kaiserswerth.  In a green oasis close to the River Rhine, one can completely relax and enjoy a glass of beer or juice.

Located at the riverside, the Rhine Terraces are close to the Rhinepark.  The Rhine Terraces not only offer a refreshing break, but also host numerous events during the summer months.

In the city centre
, breweries offer open-air standing and seated places, and whether in the old town or on Ratinger Strasse, visitors become lovers of the outdoors.

Open Air Cinema (Commerz Real Cinema) – July to August 2015
A cinema experience underneath the starry sky is a definite highlight of the Northrhine-Westphalian summer culture in Dusseldorf.  Up to 2,200 visitors may enjoy daily movies in German language, snacks and refreshments in front of the 400-sq-m screen.  From mid-July to mid-August 2015, the edge of the Rhine will be an impressive background for international cinema highlights.  Movies start at the beginning of sunset.
